About Me

I was born and raised in Houma, Louisiana and I'm very proud of my state and Cajun heritage. I love Louisiana’s culture, landscapes and natural habitat. That love is often reflected in my clay work through sgraffito designs or pottery impressed with botanicals found locally. I’ve always enjoyed art work in various forms since I was little and was encouraged by my mother who was never judgmental. Whether it was writing, drawing, painting or photography she was very supportive therefore I never felt hindered in what I was doing. Throughout my life I've worked in many forms of art. It has always been  something I felt compelled to do.

There is beauty everywhere I look and I hope to show this through my work. I've found that many of the birds, animals, plants and scenes locally are similar to those in many other regions.  Therefore, I feel this is a pictorial language I speak through my artwork that can easily be understood and enjoyed by others.
